In 1972, the United States completed the 6th manned exploration of the Moon. It had taken a decade and billions of dollars to create the technology and procedures to make it a reality. In the half century since then no one has gone back. Following the completion of the Space Shuttle program, America elected to cobble together spare parts to build a spacecraft that can head back towards the Moon.
Our Solar System Ambassador, David Ball, introduces us to the SLS program and the plan to go back to the future. Ball served 26 years in the US Air Force, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel, and is a now a volunteer educator with NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
NOTE: This program will be recorded. All registrants will receive the recording via email within 48 hours of the program.
